 Wish you were here: rent paid, literature order of $9 area contribution of $3 this group is in
need of home group members
Old Business:
 Discussion took place as to if groups are receiving receipts for the rent paid at the church
formerly known as grace episcopal church.
 We have been contacted by Suffolk area to give them our secretary report, Jay S. asked if we
can include our open commitments in that email.
 Discussion took place as to if we should amend policy to state that area commitments require
nonconsecutive service “at eastern LI area” not just 6 months nonconsecutive service
 There is supposed to be 2 signatories on our checking account which causes problems for the
recipients of our checks.
 Pete M. has the key to the PO box we got the mail and most of it was junk mail.
 Discussion took place that as per policy, only two people are allowed to have a key, literature
chair and H&I chair which created a problem last week.
New Business:
 Concern was raised about Lit recovery, no literature, no key tags, a trusted servant was at area
to procure key tags. Motion was made by Debbi V, 2nd by Jurgens for area to donate literature to
this group as addicts are showing up. Concern was raised that the GSR was collecting money
however not handing the money in to area.
 Motion was made to change area policy from “x amount of service” to “x amount of any area
service” No one opposed, motion passed unanimously
 Carolyn H got the PO box key Christine M was volunteered to check the mail box.
 We need signatories on the bank account and the people who are supposed to be on there are
area chair, treasurer and vice chair.
 Motion made by Debbie V. for books for the spiritual breakfast: 2nd by Kenny N. passed
 Multiple GSR’s left area before it ended. Area policy clearly states that GSR’s are not to pick up
literature before the conclusion of area. Unless there is a valid situation which necessitates
leaving early, to do so detracts from the spiritual principle of unity because once one GSR leaves
early, others follow. Please do not leave area early.
